Our members are successful executives in business and the professions who are committed to giving back. Our Zonta Club includes professionals from all walks of life with unique life experiences and skills that benefit not only our local community but the world community as well.
Our goal is to work for a better world for women and girls, both locally and globally. We achieve these goals by offering resources, time, and effort to local service projects that benefit women and girls. Our chapter supports Zonta International service programs, and by providing leadership opportunities to our members.
Organizational Structure
The Zonta Club of Trenton/Mercer is part of Zonta International, which was founded in 1919.
Zonta divides the world into districts; each club is a member of a district as well as a member of Zonta International. Districts are further subdivided into areas. Zonta Trenton-Mercer is part of District 3, Area 2. District 3 comprises portions of New York (including New York City and Long Island), all of New Jersey, part of Pennsylvania, and all of Virginia, Maryland, and the District of Columbia.
Each district conducts a conference at least once per biennium and area meetings or workshops at least annually. The district is administered by a board consisting of an elected district governor, lieutenant governor, treasurer, and one or more area directors, and a secretary and parliamentarian who are appointed by the governor.
