Zonta International is one of six principal bodies with general consultative status on United Nations Economical and Social Council (ECOSOC). Zonta International is an accredited, non-governmental organization (NGO) that brings women’s concerns to the UN, suggests solutions, draws public attention to issues, and encourages its members to participate at the local level.
Zonta maintains representatives of its United Nations Committee at UN sites in Geneva, New York, Paris, and Vienna. Committee members attend UN conferences and UN agency, committee, and commission sessions.
For more information visit the Zonta International Web site.
The Zonta Club of Trenton/Mercer and the Mercer County Commission on the Status of Women host an annual contest for children to celebrate the United Nations International Day of Families. Children from schools throughout Mercer County submit artwork or an essay that reflects their impression of What Family Means to Me.
